A message from the CEO, Jackie Willis

To all our valued customers

Many of us will have enjoyed a holiday at home over the past year or so, but there’s no better time than right now to dig out those wish lists and rediscover our sense of adventure! Why? Well, more countries than ever are permitting UK visitors and the traffic light system has finally been replaced with a more streamlined initiative of just a single red list of off-limits places. This means that overseas trips are very much back on the cards and we are now entering the biggest reopening of travel since the start of the pandemic! In terms of the possibility of operating tours, we will of course be guided by this new system along with any applicable restrictions in the destination country. The rapid progress in vaccinations is giving many of us the confidence to travel as soon as possible and, if you choose an Andante Travels tour, you’ll have the extra confidence of knowing that our industry-leading COVID action plan will stay in place as long as they are needed. Rest assured that if a Covid-19 test is still a requirement in order to return to the UK, we will arrange this for you on tour.

We are currently operating tours in the UK and any other destinations we are permitted to travel, as long as any local or attraction-specific restrictions are not likely to greatly disrupt the itinerary. Whilst it may still become necessary to cancel a tour as a result of (1) subsequent changes to the UK Government advice or local restrictions in the destination, (2) our suppliers not being in a position to put our COVID action plan in place, or (3) voluntary transfers resulting in unviable guest numbers on the tour, we anticipate an extensive programme of tours in autumn and winter 2021. If your tour is cancelled for one of these three reasons, we are committed to providing the most convenient alternative arrangements, matching prices where possible.

For any questions you may have around travelling with us, we have a selection of dedicated FAQs that should provide answers and you can find them by clicking here.

Good health and happy travels from all of us here at Andante.

If you booked on a tour due to depart in 2021

  • We are very much looking forward to welcoming you on tour.
  • If it does become necessary for us to cancel your tour, there will be no charge to transfer to new travel dates. We will match your price if you move to a new date from January to March 2022 or offer a discount on the 2022 price for moving to any other 2022 date. Alternatively, you may choose to transfer to any other 2021 or 2022 tour (with no admin fee to pay). Any difference in price would be payable. Or you may request a refund.
  • If you wish to transfer to a different tour before we contact you, there is no charge to do so up to 56 days prior to departure. Within 56 days, cancellation terms apply.
  • If you wish to cancel now, normal booking conditions apply.
  • If your tour is viable and we contact you to collect your holiday balance, this balance would still be payable, and not to do so would result in the cancellation of your booking and retention of your deposit (if within 56 days). Please note: there is no risk in paying your balance – your holiday booking/monies will be fully protected as part of our ATOL/ABTOT accreditation.
  • We reserve the right to cancel your tour within 12 weeks if the number of late customer cancellations or transfers make the tour commercially unviable.

  • We are very much looking forward to welcoming you on tour, subject to your destination appearing on the ‘green’ or ‘amber’ travel list, with no quarantine requirements on arrival there or home, and subject to your status as double-vaccinated if this is a destination requirement.
  • We are monitoring the situation on a daily basis. Any changes to restrictions that mean you can no longer travel will be communicated to you as quickly as possible. If it does become necessary to cancel your tour, there will be no charge to transfer to new travel dates.
