The Archaeology of MacBeth
From £2,695
Summary
There are few plays as captivating or enigmatic as Macbeth, just as there are few which are so closely linked Scotland. This is a tour which explores important artefacts and sites of historic Scotland in order to untangle the history of Macbeth and the truth behind the play. In the process, we consider various strands which underpin the Scottish play, namely the reign of King James I/VI, the history of witchcraft in Scotland, as well as early Scottish history, from Picts to the consolidation of Macbeth’s power. The tour will shed new light on the play and the history of Scotland, while, along the way, taking you to sites in Scotland you never knew existed.
