Isabella Sjöström is an archaeologist with a particular interest in Anatolia and North Africa. She has excavated in the UK, Italy, Greece, Turkey and Libya, and currently works as a pottery specialist with the Sudan Archaeological Research Society in Sudan.

In addition to excavating at a number of sites in northern Sudan, Isabella is working on a number of analyses of Nubian pottery from her work in Sudan, as well as on a study of the architecture and town plan of el Khandaq, and abandoned 18th century Sudanese mercantile hub. Having grown up in Turkey as a child and travelled widely across North Africa and the Middle East, Isabella speaks several languages fluently.
