
Dr Brian Ayers

Brian Ayers is a British archaeologist specialising in medieval urban archaeology. He was formerly the City Archaeologist of Norwich, about which city he has published extensively (including the book Norwich: Archaeology of a Fine City), and the County Archaeologist of Norfolk.
He now undertakes research in the hanseatic region. His book The German Ocean: Medieval Europe around the North Sea was published in hardback in 2016 and is now available in paperback.
